In 2007, W.L. Gore purchased 40 acres of land in north Phoenix for a new medical-devices campus. The company is currently in development of its property, sited near Interstate 17 and the Carefree Highway. Ultimately, Gore expects to hire 800 staff to work at the location.

The Shops at Norterra, located a few miles south of Sonoran Foothills off of Happy Valley/I-17, are continually opening new businesses. In 2010, Norterra is flourishing with: Buffalo Wild Wings, Charming Charlie, Blissful Yoga ....and many more! Want to see a movie near Sonoran Foothills? Norterra has Harkins Theatre with all digital projection and sound.
